Randy and I arrived in Manitowoc, Wisconsin yesterday after a very pleasant 3-day road trip. We’ll be here for nearly a month.
It’s a nice time of the year to be up in Wisconsin, though it’s still colder than we’d like. But we’re here to help move my mom to a senior living residential community. She’s still fairly active, driving and golfing, but she’s lonely. The social aspect of living in a senior community will do her a world of good. And my sisters and brothers and I are happy that she’ll be in a place like this for the sunset years of her life.
In addition, spending 3+ weeks in Manitowoc now helps shorten our epic 50th Anniversary Road Trip later this year. We’re still going everywhere, but just breaking it up into a couple of smaller pieces. It’s going to be so good to see and hug all of our family members who still call Wisconsin home. And if we’re really, really lucky, we’ll make a short side trip to Missouri on the way back to Florida to see Lynn and Dave, and the forever friends we made while living at the Lake of the Ozarks.
