Boy am I out of blog writing practice. I rolled out of bed this morning about 8:30 after an excellent night’s sleep and began preparing to go for a walk. Randy came in and said, “It’s Friday, isn’t it? We both need to put up a blog post.”

Damn! I wondered what happened to the week.
I spent Tuesday cleaning up the aftermath of writing the post on my mastectomy. I had an MRI on Wednesday and on Wednesday night I began having a fairly serious allergic reaction to the contrast dye they injected in me. I’ve 3 MRIs since the middle of February and I think all those heavy metals in my body are accumulating and can’t possibly be good. So on Thursday I laid pretty low all day, vacillating between feeling like I was going to faint or throw up. That allergic reaction also included hives that looked almost identical to the sun poisoning I had in April that I thought was from the BP medication.
After spending an hour or so with Dr. Google, it looks like that sun poisoning might have actually been an allergic reaction to the MRI contrast dye. I’d had an MRI shortly before that occurred in April.
Here’s the good news though. I stopped the blood pressure medication because of that reaction. After a few weeks where my blood pressure went up, it has come down and seems to be controlled pretty well with the other medications I was already taking. I think it’s like an alcoholic who has to keep drinking more and more to get high. Your body gets used to it and you’ll never heal if you keep drinking, but when you quit (the blood pressure meds) your body knows what to do. I will not go on another rant here, but you all know what I think about the practicing internal medical professionals.
So, happy Friday the 13th! Expect a fabulous day! Make it very lucky for you…no matter how many people tell you it’s a day to stay away from black cats or some such other nonsense.
