An Unexpected, Thoughtful Gift

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A couple of days ago Randy and I got a package in the mail. In it was perhaps one of the most unexpected and thoughtful gifts we’ve ever received.

The package was sent by our financial advisor and her office administrator in honor of our upcoming Epic 50th Anniversary Grand Adventure Road Trip. Mind you, they didn’t even have to acknowledge the event, let alone send something to commemorate it. But they are very nice people and wanted to do something special to acknowledge the significant and rare occasion of us reaching 50 years of marriage….to the same person. According to the US Census Bureau, only 6% of marriages accomplish that. Yay, us!!

In the box was a beautiful knitted blanket, lined with lambswool, a pair of compact but powerful binoculars, a travel journal and a book of 501 Travel Questions (A Travel Game) . Each item was obviously selected and designed to enhance our Road Trip Adventure. I was stunned by their extravagant and thoughtful hearts in even acknowledging our momentous occasion.

So thank you, Sherri and Susan, for making us feel really special, and giving us a remarkable gift to get us going on the Adventure. We will never forget your kindness and generosity.

It was quite a surprise to hear about your gift package when I spoke with you last Thursday and told you about my meeting with Sherry on Wednesday. It was a very enjoyable two hour meeting (conversation) that included your Epic 50th Anniversary Grand Adventure Road Trip, (which we will be part of for over 3 weeks!!), a special secluded place on the river where David and I can go, a lot about the beautiful horses they own and yes some stuff on our portfolio. Susan is so dang bubbly, I love being in her presence. These are indeed two wonderful women.

I what to add my sincere thank you to Sherry and Susan for the thoughtful and certainly unexpected gift. Sherry is not only our financial advisor, but has become a personal; albeit long distance, friend as well.
Susan is always cheerful and makes us feel welcome when ever we stop by the office. And… y’all, she has the most beautiful handwriting I’ve ever seen! It’s more on par with calligraphy than cursive.
    Thank you Sherry and Susan.
