I laugh ever time I think about Happy Pappy’s Glowing Balls. You KNOW where my mind goes! That’s why (from someone who holds a degree in Marketing) the name of this business is so brilliant. Unforgettable.
Last year, Kristine and Gary gifted us with two glowing balls like those in the photo, but bigger, to hang on our lanai. The LED bulb in the balls change colors and have lots of fun flashing functions, including a seizure inducing strobe light feature. They are perfect out there and we absolutely love(d) them.
Those happy glowing balls blew apart in Hurricane Ian. So on our way back from Kristine and Gary’s last week, we stopped in St Augustine to replace them. Kristine had become good friends with owner Jason. I’m not clear if he’s actually Happy Pappy, but he sure did treat us like family. After he “built” the balls right in front of us and gave us some new panels to add to the ones we recovered after the storm so we could try to reconstruct the 2 we had before, he poured each of us a shot of rum. We drank (on a Sunday morning when we’d normally be in church) to our new relationship and to glowing balls.
If we were still Catholic, I might have to ask forgiveness for that Sunday morning behavior. Thank goodness all we have to do is enjoy the memory and hang the glowing balls.
