I have a hate/hate relationship with garage sales. I hate going to them and I hate having them. Yet, in nearly 50 years of marriage, and being raised by my mom, I have learned that garage sales are a necessary evil of modern life.
This morning I’m sitting at my neighbor’s while she has a garage sale as part of the annual huge community garage sale in the development we live in. She graciously allowed us to bring over the things we have that we no longer need. Saved us the trouble and pain of preparing for our own.
The real answer is just to stop collecting stuff that you think you need, but really don’t. The older I get the less stuff I want and need.
Come to think of it, there is something I love about garage sales…watching my junk make someone else happy.
