Randy and I are heading back to Camdenton in a few weeks. While there we’re going to attend a Doobie Brothers concert, featuring Michael McDonald.
We can’t wait to experience a blast from the past seeing one of our favorite bands from our formative early adult years.
When Randy and I were in a band of our own called Whirlwind (see the blog post about that linked here), our repertoire included some Doobie Brothers songs. We still occasionally break out in a chorus of Black Water or Jesus is Just Alright. And laugh like loons when we do. It’s good for the soul.
Researchers say that thinking fondly of the past and embracing nostalgia bring 10 powerful health benefits to our life. Included are happier, healthier aging and improved romantic relationship. I say hell, yes! to both of those.
Who cares that we’re now all older than dirt? I can’t wait!
