It’s so hot the chickens are laying hard boiled eggs.
It’s so hot that hot water now comes out of both taps.
It’s so hot the ocean only has heat waves.
It’s seriously warm in Florida. Duh…..you say. I know. But honestly, I don’t remember this kind of heat the first two years we were here. We’re close enough to the Gulf to catch that gulf breeze most of the time. But we’ve had so little rain this year that the normal daily sun showers that cool it down a little each day haven’t happened.
We went out to run errands today. Nothing too strenuous but, with the heat index at 113 degrees, we were dripping sweat by the time we got home.
Still, it’s not too humid, probably thanks to the lack of rain (thank goodness for small favors) so I didn’t feel like I was too hot and couldn’t stand living in Florida anymore. I remember heat in Missouri that was far more uncomfortable than this. Heat stroke inducing hot. And we didn’t have the beach or a pool there where we could escape for a while.
It’s hot, no doubt about that. But I still love, love, love living in Florida.
And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.
