You can put your whole life on hold waiting to emerge into the light at the end of the tunnel.
What I mean is that there’s always something that’s going to happen in the future that you think is the end of whatever you’re going through right now. And you’re always sure that when that happens, everything will be fine. In my recent experience though, that tunnel keeps getting longer and the light keeps moving farther away.
Since we moved to Florida, we waited till the new roof got put on the house, till we assessed all the deferred maintenance the house needed, till the hurricane damage was catalogued and repaired, till the cancer diagnosis was dealt with, till we see how expensive it’s really going to be to live here based on the runaway inflation and skyrocketing insurance and tax costs.
We can see the light, but we just can’t seem to get out of that tunnel. Yet. But we will.
