As much as I’d love to be able to lay on the beach every day, that’s not practical when designing life after retirement.
I’ve always wanted to write. Not fiction. I’m not very good at making up stories. But it seems I have a bit of talent for telling real stories, in writing. Yet, I’m not interested now in working too hard. When it comes right down to it, I don’t want to be tied down to anything that seems like a J.O.B. At a dinner party a few weeks ago, after a great deal of free flowing adult beverage, everyone told stories of the wilder experiences of their teen and early adult years. We laughed more than I remember laughing in months. And another friend posited that there was a market in our age group for stories like that.
I have so much to say. Whether or not anyone really wants to hear it. But where, and how? This morning I found Wix. An easy, no cost way to see if starting and maintaining a blog is something I can really sink my teeth into and hold onto without seeming like I’m working again.
So this is it, the first grand experiment of my retirement years. Not counting the grand move to Florida which was absolutely the best thing we’ve done in the past 40 years. In my opinion anyway. Maybe I’ll get Randy to write his opinion of the move.
I hope you’ll join me on this journey of discovery to live our best life at 68 and counting.
