When we closed on our house in July 2021, our realtor gifted us with a Ring doorbell and an Amazon Echo Show 5.
The Ring doorbell lives, camera facing down, in a drawer except when we’re away from home where we set it up to watch both the front door and the living room patio door. The Echo is still in the box.
My friend Michele told me a funny story Monday. Her husband’s birthday is Friday. He loves Hydrox cookies which apparently are now only available on-line. She ordered some and they were delivered promptly. Michele has a cochlear implant so sometimes misses audio alerts and alarms. Her husband Paul came into the room and said, “Michele, Alexa is flashing.” Michele asked Paul to ask Alexa why she was flashing, and Alexa said, “Michele, your Amazon order for cookies has been delivered.”
So much for surprising Paul for his birthday.
Alexa is a snitch! And that is one reason why the Echo is still in its box.
