We took an airboat ride on the Peace River yesterday.
It’s interesting to see Florida about 15 miles inland, away from the coastal communities and hub bub of the beaches and tourist traps that are stereotypical of the Florida in northerners minds.
It’s unexpectedly beautiful and more peaceful than I’d imagined. The photo doesn’t do the reality justice. We saw manatees and alligators, beautiful birds and buzzards. We got wet and a bit sunburned and all in all had a fabulous day. It’s another Florida world with different kind of peace.
Thanks to Peace River Charters, who have a lot of other adventurous outdoor things to do just a short drive from our home.
