My dad died exactly 1 week before Christmas in 2017.

I wrote about him in a Father’s Day post a couple of years ago. I miss him a lot. Every year around the anniversary of his permanent departure out of his earthly body, I make a point to reassemble the puzzle I had created from one of the photo boards we put together for his FUNeral.

I have about an hours worth of effort to complete the puzzle reassembly this morning. The detail of the faces are always last because the color is similar and they’re hardest place correctly.

I love spending a few days each year remembering all the fun and crazy things about Dad triggered in watching those photos come together again. It’s so much more satisfying than simply flipping through those pictures for the few minutes it takes to do that. It gives me time to really savor those memories.

If you’re interested in hearing about some of the memories that are triggered about my Dad, follow the link above in the second paragraph. If you knew him, leave a comment below with a memory of your own.
